Central Italy leads the national production (over 1.2 billion in value), traditionally driven by the performance of the Tuscany region, which firmly maintains its position as the leader in national nursery production (with a market share exceeding 50%) and a production turnover close to one billion: 923 million euros (+0.1% compared to 2022). This figure, when combined with the production values of nurseries and floriculture (another 56.7 million euros, +0.4% compared to 2022), positions Tuscany as the undisputed leader in the sector.

A slight decline is noted for Lazio, another key region in the area, which ends 2023 with a value of 190.4 million (-0.3%, but with positive growth in floricultural production).
