Myplant & Garden – International Green Expo
Report – 3rd edition – 22-24 February, 2017
The third edition of the International Green Expo has closed its doors on record numbers and great impressions: big increase in visitors (30%+ more than 2016), great business opportunities and useful contacts for the exhibitors (this year there have been 567: 126 more than 2016), more foreign companies (from 70 last year, to 117).
The event has brought life back into the trade fair world, and it is also a drive for the culture around the sector on a professional, creative and design level. The International Green Expo has brought the green sector at the center of debates after years of silence. It has created connections between horticulture, agronomy, creativity, design, and the rest of the industry. It has started a competition for the planning of a green space – Dynamic Gardens – it has brought back floricultural districts, it has included prizes for the most important innovations on an international level, and it has also participated in the creation of a TV show. All these factors have contributed to the presence of 110 official international top buyer delegations and of visitors from all over the world.
Numerous exhibitors have come from abroad, mainly from The Netherlands, Denmark, France and Germany. Foreign visitors as well have come mainly from The Netherlands, Switzerland, France and Romania. There have been also visitors from the rest of Europe, China, Africa, Asia, the American continent and Oceania.
The profiling of visitors allows us to say that more than 50% came from sales channels (retailers, garden centres, agents) and from the horticulture production. Side by side to them, there were wholesalers, import/export operators, buyers from the chains and those invited by the management. Myplant has attracted more than one potential buyer every two visitors, whereas the rest of visitors was represented by potential buyers such as maintenance operators, gardeners, nurserymen, architects, companies, agents from hotel and touristic infrastructures, professionals and service companies.
